One guest in particular, Harvey, really wanted to understand how reading works. I explained to him that the lines on your hand change with the thoughts in your mind. I think of it like the left brain is your computer and your right palm is your monitor.Everytime you have a stressful thought or emotion in your left brain, it will show up in your right palm. First it shows up as a red splotch. When your palm is splotchy, (check yours out now), it means you are tense. This really isn't anything mysterious. Your palm is a biofeedback point. When your stress, you tense your muscles. When muscles are tensed, blood flow is resticted. When blood flow is retricted, it makes a splotchy area. When you relax, your palm gets lighter. When you"re very relaxed and your blood is flowing properly, your palm will be one even light color.

It has been common knowledge for a long time that people with high blood pressure are prone to upsets and anger. Therefore, high blood pressure shows in a palm. It shows as a splotchy palm.

This is the part I love. - You can change the color of your palm in just seconds!
When I read a splotchy palm, I explain that it's not good for health to hold all that tension and restrict one's normal blood flow. I ask the person to close his eyes and relax. It's a party and tension serves no good purpose at a party. Relax. Breathe. When people are fearful or angry, they unconsciously hold their breath, so simply breathing deeply can restore blood flow. Then I have them open their eyes and look again at their palm.
Very cool. Some have a totally clear palm now. Some have cut the splotchiness dramatically.
When they realize they have a biofeedback mechanism built into their palms, some people use it to learn to relax more. Now that's very cool. I love the idea that being an entertainer at a party can have a long-lasting positive effects on a few people.

This was the conference for the American Credit Union at the Omni who sells products to local credit unions for their sales reps across the country and their clients.The had me read their guests at the dinner by the pool party. I read for 3 hours. Everyone who wanted to be read was read in that time. Of course, I enjoyed the readings, but at the moment what sticks out most is the conversation I had with a few guests after I finished.

My daughter told me today how confusing life has been for her, (which, by the way, she never explained to me before). She explained that growing up with me gave her a view of reality that she never found anywhere else in her adult life.
Believing differently than most people seemed to, made her wonder if she should try to fit in or fight the norm. It is just now, at age 31, that she is finding her own answer.
The answer she has discovered is........ 'neither'.
Each person creates their own reality by the thoughts they have, the choices they make and the way they interpret things. Each person creates their own reality by the way they view themselves and how they feel they fit in the scheme of things.
Now that she has come to her own understandings, she is happy.
She told me that although the reality I have created for myself, seems quite different than the realities the people she has associated with have created for themselves, she now understand that all anyone has been showing her is a picture of her possibilities.

What a wonderful revelation.
Each of us is free to change our reality at any time.
There is no fixed reality. There is not just one truth or one real thing.
It's all in how you look at it.

Whenever you change how you interpret things, how you see yourself, how you judge yourself, you automatically create a new reality for yourself.

Go ahead. Take a moment and create a new reality for yourself right now.

I interpret everything in ways that give me more opportunities for inner peace. I choose inner peace to be my reality. When people come to visit me, they enter my domain, and I get to choose the prevailing reality here (as you do in your home).
If people don't want to experience and choose inner peace, and talk to me in ways that create additional opportunities for me to choose inner peace, then they are not welcome to come to my home.

It has never posed a problem for me. Just the opposite.
People love to come here and feel the peace and be a part of it.

Readings Over Lunch

I just had the greatest lunch.
I was hired to be the birthday present for my client's good friend.
My client ( to protect her privacy, I'll call her Serena) arranged to have the birthday girl and another close friend of theirs, Clara to meet for lunch.
She told me what time to arrive so she could surprise her friends.
We all had a fabulous lunch at the new Masaraff in the Galleria.
I read their palms first. Then we ate an appetizer. Then I read their eyes. Then we ate a salad.
Then I told them each about their marriages and their husbands.
That was the most fun part for me. They thought the whole thing was fun., which is was of course, but I especially enjoy the challenge of seeing what I can pick up on.

I picked up that Serena's husband liked a marriage that was a partnership. He sincerely wanted her opinions and preferred to share responsibilities and decision making roles.

Clara's husband says he wants a partnership and in his mind they have one, but he defines a partnership differently. Another might use the word dictatorship for the decision making process. In his vision of a partnership, he and his wife take turns getting to be the dictator in different areas of their shared life. If she wants more input, he would want her to take the whole area of responsibility and make all the decisions on it. In areas where he takes the responsibility, he wants full say.

The birthday girl's husband thought of women differently. He treated a girlfriend one way, a wife another. Now that she was the mother of his child, he saw her differently yet. That made him more protective in some ways, but more critical in others.
She asked me to see what he was likely to do about challenges in their relationship, but what came to me was to ask her what she wanted him to do.

70th Birthday

What a nice party! It was a birthday party for a healthy, happy fellow turning 70. They rented the upstairs to La Carafe, which is said to be the oldest bar in Houston. I read for 3 hours and wish I could remember more, but I'm happy that I can at least remember these readings.

I don't think many realize it, but when I read for people, I listen carefully to what comes out of my mouth, because I generally say something I also needed to hear. I sit after each party and write at least one reading that I can remember. I write down the advice I gave, then I take my own advice.
I took a little more time than usual tonight, so I could share some of my readings with you.

Prepare a table with 3 chairs and expect readings to take about 5 - 10 minutes per person. If you have a large crowd, you may want to ask Lindy to arrange for additional readers for your event.

As a special treat, for your guests, purchase one box of cards for each guest. At the end of each guest's reading, have the reader present the guest with the box as a gift from you.
